About FishSeek

FishSeek is a free fishing guide for people who want a place, a species, and a starting setup — not a social feed.

The project

We put spots and waters first, then attach species, tackle notes, and seasonal context to that place. The map, species index, and Learn pages are the product. Editorial pages like this one sit beside the catalog; they are not the catalog.

The fishing map uses OpenStreetMap-based tiles. Spot weather and fishing scores use data we store for that place, not your device location.

What you can do here

  • Open the fishing map and read a spot or water page.

  • Browse species guides.

  • Use Learn for knots, rigs, and lure types.

  • Check an informational fishing score and stored weather on a spot.

  • Switch metric or imperial units in the browser.

  • Write to us from Contact (info@fishseek.net).

The team

A small editorial team runs FishSeek. There is no public staff directory and no member accounts. Blog notes are signed FishSeek. If you need a person, use the Contact page.

What we aim for

  • Keep spot and water pages useful: access, species, and a setup that matches the water.

  • Stay honest about gaps — a missing season or species is better than a guess.

  • Grow coverage without turning the site into a social network or a shop.

  • Keep the guide free to read.

What FishSeek is not

  • Not a booking service, licence office, or substitute for local rules.

  • Not a marketplace.

  • Not a live catch feed.
