Essential cookies

Most public pages do not start a session. We set a session cookie and a CSRF cookie when you use the Contact form or sign in to the admin panel. Typical names follow Laravel (for example fishseek-session and XSRF-TOKEN). They keep the form secure. They are not used to advertise.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics 4 may set _ga and _ga_0CC0R8L3W6 (and similar names) to recognise a returning browser and count visits. These cookies are not required to read the guides.

Local storage

Unit preference (gf.units) is stored in the browser. It is not a cookie and is not sent to us as a profile.

Third-party content

• If you play an embedded Learn video, YouTube may set its own cookies.

• Opening the fishing map requests tiles from OpenFreeMap. That does not set a FishSeek cookie.

How to control cookies

FishSeek does not show a cookie banner. You can block or delete cookies in the browser, use tracking protection, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's tools. Blocking essential cookies will stop the Contact form (and admin sign-in) from working.
