Privacy Policy
This policy explains what FishSeek collects when you use the fishing guides, map, search, and tools — and what we do with it.

Who we are
FishSeek publishes fishing spots, waters, species guides, tackle notes, knot guides, and informational fishing scores. There are no public member accounts. The Contact page is the way to write to us (info@fishseek.net).
What we collect
Contact form. If you send a message we receive your name, email, and message so we can reply. We email that to our inbox. The site does not keep a public message archive. A hidden field is there only to stop bots; we ignore it.
Technical logs. Our hosts and content network (including Cloudflare) may record IP address, browser User-Agent, the page requested, and a country code from the network edge. We use the country hint to serve a relevant storefront, not to build a profile of you.
Search. Queries you type into FishSeek search are processed on our servers so we can return spots, waters, and species.
Weather and scores. Spot pages show weather and fishing scores from data we store for that place. Those lookups use the spot coordinates, not your device location. The browser is not asked for geolocation.
Unit preferences. If you switch metric or imperial units, that choice stays in your browser (local storage). It is not a cookie and is not stored as an account.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0CC0R8L3W6) to see which pages are used. Google may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* and process usage data, which can include an IP address, on Google systems. That can involve a transfer outside your country.
Videos. Some Learn pages can play an embedded video (YouTube privacy-enhanced player). Opening a video sends a request to YouTube.
Maps. The fishing map loads tiles from OpenFreeMap, built on OpenStreetMap. Your browser requests those tiles when you open the map.
Cookies
Essential session and CSRF cookies are set only when a form or the admin panel needs them. Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics. Details are on the Cookie Policy page.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data.
We do not run our own advertising network or social-media pixels on FishSeek pages.
We do not create public member profiles or a newsletter signup on this site.
How long we keep data
Contact emails stay only as long as we need to reply and run the site. Server and CDN logs follow those providers' normal retention. Google Analytics retention follows the setting on that Google property.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, or deletion of personal data you sent us (for example a contact message). Use the Contact page and say it is a privacy request. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland you may also complain to a data-protection authority.
Who processes data for us
We use infrastructure providers to host the site, deliver pages, send contact email, measure traffic (Google), serve map tiles, and refresh weather for published spots. They process data only to provide that service.
Changes
When our practices change, we update this page. The date at the top is the current version.
