What is a rod rest used for?

A rod rest is a U or V head on a bank stick that holds one fishing rod while you wait for a bite.

How is a rod rest different from similar gear?

Single head, not a rod pod’s frame. Carp, feeder, and surf when the rod is not in your hands.

When should you use a rod rest?

Use it on any static session so the rod is not in the mud or across a bucket.

What problems does a rod rest solve?

It keeps the tip still so you can see a bite, and it keeps rings out of the dirt.
