What fish can you catch with a beach rod?
What is a beach rod used for?
A beach rod is a long spinning fishing rod for mixed surf and estuary work: still length, but shorter and lighter than a full surfcaster.
How is a beach rod different from similar gear?
Same jobs as surfcasting and bottom fishing, on a softer blank for mixed ground. It is not the long dumping-beach specialist.
When should you use a beach rod?
Use it on calmer beaches, sandbars, and estuary mouths where you still need length but not a tournament surf stick.
What problems does a beach rod solve?
It lets you fish the wash and a nearby gutter without carrying a full surf blank all day.
